The Capitol Higher Institute of Health and Beauty Therapy, a leading health training institution in Bamenda has announced that to match its products with the ever increasing demand so of the job market, it is improving on its training capacity both in terms of human resources and infrastructure.
Speaking at a press conference in Bamenda recently the Founder and director of the institute, Ngala Edward pointed out that in the released end of course exams by the ministry of higher education, Capitol Institute of Health registered the most impressive results in the north west region given that all of its candidates succeeded in the Higher National Diploma exams. He went on to point out that this results are largely based on the intensive teaching that the school offers.
One of the senior officials of the school Dr Mfomfu used the occasion to explain that the school offers different training programmes such as Higher Professional Diploma, Higher National Diploma and Degree programmes.
He went on to say thanks to the national and international partnerships that the school has, much research has been carried out and the results have been widely distributed in the interest of the general public.
Corroborating Dr Mfomfu, one of the board members of the institution, Dr Atanga Rose who doubles as the head of Nursing department at the university of Bamenda explained that Capitol Institute of Health has vulgarized the concept of community health through sending its trainees to live and work in local communities where they interact with the population, listen to them and meet up with their needs. This she concluded is already helping the school to improve on its curriculum to meet the needs of the communities where they are expected to serve.
The director of the school, Ngala Edward, responding to worries on the competitiveness of graduates of Beauty and Therapy amidst growing opposition from informal practitioners said the new trainees who are in a class of their own will soon upset the statusquo given that they are better equipped to handle the needs of the population based on research that has already been carried out.
He announced that the permanent site of the school which presently has several campuses will soon go operational at Mile 8 Mankon. The structure, he noted will bring all the training facilities together and enable students to get better services.
