CUIB Board meet on Vision 2019

Board of Trustees (BOT) of CUIB met to discuss Vision 2019 goals presented to them by the President of the institution, Rev. Fr. George J. Nkeze during the seventh session of the Boards' meeting on Wednesday March 25.

According to the Chancellor and chairman of the meeting, His Lordship Bishop Immanuel Bushu, the vision has been adopted pending some reviews and amendments by Board members after deliberations.

The meeting which opened at the CUIB molyko campus was a platform for the President of the institution, Fr. George J. Nkeze to present his Vision to Board members.

In his presentation, he reiterated the vision and mission of CUIB with the 5 E’s: Excellence, Education for Eternity, Eucharist, Entrepreneurship and Economy of Communion. He expatiated on some aspects encompassing the 5 E’s that have to be executed to attain What Excellence Looks and Feels Like at CUIB.

The activities to be carried out include fostering the God Culture among the different denominations, building a strong campus ministry, reinforcing the culture of giving, empowering the students through a Leadership and Management Center and through non-degree programs to assist students with talents, study while pursuing their talents with the university’s Sports Academy, the reduction of paper use through the use of ICT’s as well as practice the Triple Helix rule of creating a cycle between school, society and industry among others.

He further laid emphasis on the fact that Vision 2019 is out to keep alive the mission and vision of CUIB. He outlined 10 points that will make the realization of the 5 E’s a success and they are putting God first, aspiring to perfection, seeking to succeed in spite of failure sometimes, honesty, sharing, seeing the glass half full, humility, virtue and hope.

Participating through Skype, Strategic Advisor, Lena Prince Nchako acknowledged the presence of Board members and asserted that it was as a result of this that Board members must be abreast with all university activities of fund raising.

To this effect BOT members who are chairs of different units in the institution are encouraged to work with units under their charge.

In addition to this, the chairman Bishop Immanuel Bushu called on the members to think of design as a tool to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the university.

He appreciated the successes registered in the institution with the first commencement, the academic trade fair, the cyber security conference and the visit and talk by Prof. Fritz Elango former Lecturer at EARTH University to CUIB faculty and staff on agriculture, a sector of interest to the institution.

It is worth mentioning that minutes of the sixth session which took place last year was adopted and amendments made. The seventh session of the CUIB Board of Trustees meeting brought members together to deliberate on matters that will take the university forward.
