CUIB challenged to work for the common good

Benedetto Cui, Professor of Economics at the Sophia University Institute in Italy has stressed on the need for "common good" to be the core goal in all initiatives taken be it at individual or organizational levels.

This was at the launching of the international conference on the Economy of Communion philosophy, on February 9, 2015 on the trade fair ground.

Presenting on the philosophy, he challenged participants to begin working for the common good of those around them. This he said will go a long way to build a better world by reducing poverty, inequality and other ills affecting the world.

During the launching, Damen Ngatchu highlighted the essence of EoC which strives to define an Economy of mutual unconditional love in which everyone sees the other as equal in dignity and different in function.

Professor Wilfred Ndongko applauded the guest speaker and his team for sharing with the university values that will contribute to the training of professional servant leaders.

The conference organized by the university's Campus Ministry brought together a host of guests, students, faculty staff, and some members from the Sophia University Institute in Italy via Skype. The conference which continues in the days ahead will have training workshops that will enable participants understand and live the philosophy.
