The Regional Public Works Delegate, Denis Awoh Ndang, has instructed the contractor to urgently do something about the deviation.

While on a field visit to size up the construction of bridges, culverts and maintenance on the Ndop-Kumbo-Nkambe stretch of the Ring Road, the North West Regional Delegate for Public Works, Denis Awoh Ndang, instructed contractors to step up the pace of work before heavy rains set in.

On the Ndop-Babungo highway, the Delegate met a disturbing situation where a collapsed deviation bridge caused a truck to fall into River Meghei, thereby slowing down traffic flow.

He then directed the contractor of the neighourhood bridge and box culverts to immediately re-establish traffic quickly for passengers to travel without stress.

Denis Awoh Ndang felicitated the contractor for completely work on the bridges that are awaiting curing time to be opened to traffic.

Meanwhile, three box culverts under construction on the same stretch do not yet know the same success, with barely 50 per cent of work and over 90 per cent of time already used up.

The Delegate proceeded to inspect completed work waiting handing over on Jaban Bridge between Jakiri in Bui Division and Foumban in the West Region.

Similarly, maintenance works on the Kumbo-Nkambe highway are on course with 41 km of the 70 km already graded. Denis Awoh encouraged the contractor to speed up work right to Nkambe before heavy rains cause any suspension.

In another development, barely 50 per cent of work on the Kumbo-Mbiame-Lip road has been carried out. Work stopped because the aconaid product is needed to stabilize the road surface, which is not possible during the rainy season.
