Corrupt chief dethroned

Chief Jomo Motale Otte of Big Bekondo, Mbonge Subdivision, Meme Division of the Southwest Region has been dethroned for alleged engagement in cheating, corruption and extortion of funds from his subjects.

The third class traditional ruler was fired on May 27, 2014, following a Prefectoral Order from the Meme Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, David Koulbout Aman.

According to the Order, Jomo ceases to exercise authority in the said chiefdom from the date the document was signed.

The order, No. 091/A/MINATD/DOT/SDOA/SCT of May 27, 2014, addressed to the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation, a copy of which The Post procured, is copied the Governor of the Southwest Region, the Cabinet of the SDO Meme, the Divisional Officer, DO Mbonge Subdivision and all concerned for proper information and implementation.

Attempts by The Post to contact Jomo Motale Otte for comments on the situation were abortive.
