In a bid to carry out their functions during this election period to deposit election materials, Election Cameroon, ELECAM has encountered some difficulties in distributing materials in enclave zones.

Speaking to the Regional Delegate of ELECAM, Emmanuel Njang, he said areas like Akwaya, Wabane, Tinto, Dikoume Balue, are the areas where they have encountered real difficulties. To reach Lebialem, they go through Dschang, passing through the Littoral and West Regions. The roads, he said, are really poor and difficult to get to such areas. Mr Njang said that Wabane is in a valley and no vehicle can access it to deposit election materials at this time

The Regional Delegate said ELECAM has solicited that the Governor through the Ministry of Defence gets a helicopter to drop the material in such zones. He added that this must be done despite the fact that the weather at this time is always foggy and difficult for helicopters to land. He said in the maritime zones, they will work with the Rapid Intervention Battalion of the army known by its French acronym BIR. The BIR will ensure transportation of the materials to maritime areas in Bakassi, he said.
