Hundreds of people have launched demonstrations in the city of Douala to condemn the actions of the Nigeria-based terrorist sect, Boko Haram whose multiple activities in the North of Cameroon and Nigeria are deadly.

The protesters took to the streets this Sunday 1st February 2015 with the intentions to lend their support to the security forces against Boko haram.

The peacefully March in the streets of the city of Douala received a number applauds from onlookers and competent authorities in the region.

Some carried placards such as "I am BIR" (rapid intervention battalion, elite unit of the army engaged in fighting), or "I am Kolofata", village in the region of north which has suffered repeated attacks from Boko Haram.

Moïse Taken Enan one of the demonstrators noted in strong terms that the fight is for everyone and not only Cameroonians, he added that terrorism is an issue to be tackled by the entire world because it is a social, political and an economic problem.

It is worth noting that on 21st January, a similar demonstration attended by a few people was organised in the Capital City of Cameroon.

A quarantine of Cameroonian soldiers have already lost their lives in this region and reports from the army indicates that it has killed hundreds of the terrorists since the conflict began.
