A campaign for disinfecting toilets, wells and homes is underway in five districts in Dschang. These didtricts include; Asseitsa, Régie-sonel, Madagascar, Tsinfem, Caplame and Mingou.

The operations are conducted by the Department of hygiene and sanitation in the commune of Dschang, under the direction of its Chief, Victor Nyeko. "This action is to spread disinfectants in flooded homes, spread disinfectant around households and treat latrines and wells," noted the latter.

More than 100 homes are affected. This is aimed at repairing the damage caused by the rains of September 28, 2014, which resulted in flooding, causing destruction of houses and drains of toilet in nature, in these neighbourhoods.

The flooded areas are located on the bed of several rivers that traverse the city oof Dschang. Garbage deposited by the populations resulted in the blockage of pipes.

As a sustainable solution, Beaudelaire Bex, the Mayor, promised during a ceremony November 12, to perform routine cleanup of this bed, early in the dry season. He invited the riverain populations to join local teams, to ensure the success of this operation with the objective to prevent floods in 2015.
