Barely a month to the end of the 2015 revision of electoral registers, the North West region sounds off with impressive figures.
Records at the Regional delegation of Elections Cameroon, ELECAM, reveal 30,333 newly registered voters. From the look of things, the region has already beaten the 2014 record of about 26,000 new voters registered. Youths continue to lead the exercise with 25,517 registered as at July 23, 2015.
Curtains will drop on the exercise on 31st August 2015 and the commitment to do better is evident at the Regional delegation of ELECAM. It is against this backdrop that the Regional Delegate, Nga Gasper, told Cameroon Tribune that logistical support from the ELECAM Head office helps matters with the stated preparedness of staff to turn full circle in the mobilisation of the population to join the exercise.
But for the heavy rains and bumpy roads which feature as a speed brake; the North West region is poised to emerge overall best in the voter revision exercise.
Division by division, Mezam leads with 13,350 newly registered ahead of Bui, 3,708, Boyo 3,163, Donga Mantung 3,093, Ngoketunjia 2,447, Menchum 2,342 and Momo division, 2,230.
