Equipment pool top prority for B’da III in 2015

The Bamenda III Council has placed as top priority for 2015, the acquisition of a front end loader and grader worth millions of Francs CFA to complement its equipment pool in an effort to tackle the road problems of the municipality.

The councilors authorized the Mayor, Fonguh Cletus Ngu during the 3rd ordinary session of the council on December 12, 2014 dedicated towards voting the 2015 budget which stands at 600 million FCFA, up by 50% to the 2014 budget of 400 million FCFA, to place improvement of the road network his top priority.

Other projects include ongoing studies on the creation of green parks and leisure centres around the municipality, special assistance to health centres to improve on their output, the completion of Namoh residential layout and the empowerment of agricultural cooperatives in the municipality.

Mr. Ndumbe Dika Jean Pierre, 1st Assistant SDO for Mezam, representing Mezam SDO called on the mayor and his team to collaborate with other related services and especially the forces of law and order to achieve their target budget of 600 million frs.

Addressing the councilors, the mayor called on them to double their efforts in revenue collection, identify fresh sources of revenue, fight against corruption, design new projects and follow up on existing ones to achieve their target of 600 million frs.

He also enumerated on some of the successes recorded in 2014 which amongst others included construction of bridges and culverts at Ndzah, Nchang Quarter,Ntaghem, Mbelewa, Ntenefor, Njenefor and Sissia, the construction and opening of roads to GTC Nkeung, Njenefor,Nketesoh, Ntelah and Mbong.

The Bamenda III council also acquired and provided roofing sheets to several schools in the municipality, constructed a sanitary block at G.S Upper Bayelle, and G.S Ntambeng, and nine ventilated private toilets at 7 different localities.

The Bamenda III Council also succeeded to construct and extend the Town Green Water project with the support of the African Development Bank worth 31 million FCFA to most part of the municipality sparring thousands of city dwellers from the current water crisis that is affecting the city of Bamenda.

The Council session started on a gloomy note, with the sudden passing away of the 1st Deputy Mayor, Mrs Lialam Rose, who passed on from a malaise she suffered just before the session started.
