Tue, 15 May 2012 Source: Cameroon Tribune

An essay competition has been launched for Cameroonian children aged between 14 and 16 years on the topic: The British Monarchy from 1950 to 2012.

According to a release signed by the President General of the Cameroon Chevening Association, Prof. George E. Nkeng, the essay that is exclusively in English should be at least 450 words but not more than 500 words.

"It should bring out the child's knowledge about the reign of Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and eventually relations between the United Kingdom and Cameroon during the period under review," the release further reads. The deadline for receipt of typed or handwritten submissions has been fixed for Friday 18th May 2012 by email:

The best three essays shall receive prizes and attestations co-signed by the Cameroon Chevening Association and the British High Commission to Cameroon on a date and at a venue to be announced later.

The Cameroon Chevening Association is the organization of the Cameroonian alumni of British universities whose studies were funded by grants of the United Kingdom government.
