Fight against access to alcohol by minors launched

Guinness Cameroon launched the campaign against access to alcohol by minors at the Hilton hotel on November, 26.

The consumption of alcohol by minors causes a lot of damage to their health and to protect the health of children and adolescents Guinness Cameroon decided to embark on this campaign as part of its social responsibility.

In a bid to make the campaign effective, the Minister of Public Health, André Mama Fouda and the Minister of Promotion of Women and the Family, Prof. Marie-Thérèse Abena Ondoua presided over the launch of this campaign ceremony at Hilton Hotel.

On the public health plan, the campaign aims to combat the global problem of abusive and harmful use of alcohol in our society. Especially as the increase in easy access to alcohol by minors is a problem that undermines our society.

The plan further stated that the national campaign is meant to be a condition for the elimination or significant and progressive reduction of the abusive use of alcohol.

In a span of three months, the campaign will help educate young people in secondary institutions in Yaoundé.

The schools selected are, Leclerc, of the city- green Nkoleton, Anguissa, Biyemassi, Mendong, the bilingual school of application and colleges of retirement, Vogt and Adventist.
