Fire ruins edifice at Yaounde Central Market

A wildfire consumed a portion of the Yaounde Central Market this Sunday 11th October 2015.

The fire which broke out in the early hours of the day ravaged a building hosting a financial institution.

A detachment of the firefighting brigade was immediately called up for assistance.

They succeeded in controlling the ravaging flames only after an hour when the fire had burned up a good portion of the building.

As an investigation on the cause of the fire continues, eyewitnesses hold that the unfortunate incident was caused by bad electricity installations.

Though no life was lost, reports indicate that huge material damage had been incurred.
