A man, suspected to be gay, has been arrested at Mbalmayo for seducing other men in the town.

The man is about 25 years old, is fair in complexion, medium height, with curly hair and looked well kept.

The policeman at the brigade of the Mbalmayo gendarmerie simply called him “fagot.”

Before leaving the cell, he was asked to dress like “you were yesterday.” He quickly donned a gray sweater with hood. The police officer asked him not to cover his head and asked of his name but he refused to utter a word.

After awhile he mentioned his name as Amougou. Afer a while, he signed a document and left the Brigade accompanied by the police officer. The public was visibly angry at him.

“My son why do you want to bring these things here,” asked an old lady sitting on a bench with one of his grand-son.

The young Amougou was presented to the public prosecutor and placed in custody at Mbalmayo prison. He was also accused of "fraud, and sudden injuries."

Policeman sources said Amougou took a taxi dressed like a woman. On the way, he began to seduce the taxi driver and eventually made advances at him. The taxi driver, who became interested, scheduled an appointment to meet 'her' the following day.

The next day, the taxi driver discovered that he was indeed a man. The taxi drove him directly to the Brigade where he was taken into custody.

Long before this incident, a man had lodged a complaint at the police for fraud and injury. His tongue was “torn by Amougou during a kiss,” according to the complaint. However, investigators thought he had piercings on the tongue and did nothing about it.
