Bali-Nyongha Subdivision, situated some few kilometres from Bamenda is one of the Subdivisions in the Northwest endowed with economic potentials, most of them untapped.
Marveled by what he saw during his recent socio-economic tour of the Northwest, the Governor described Bali as “paradise on earth.”
There is an ongoing project of a cassava processing plant with funding from foreign partners located beside the Njenka neighbourhood. The project which is valued at a whopping FCFA 4 billion, was initiated by the founder of the project, a Bali elite, Boniface Njakenji, Northwest Regional Delegate of the Chamber of Commerce.
This entrepreneur has opened Afrigas Refilling and Distribution Centre in the outskirts of Bali with a capacity of handling 800 bottles a day where he has invested over FCFA 300 million.
It currently employs so many youths of Bali and beyond, because, the gas is distributed beyond the Northwest Region.
The CEO of the projects, Njakenji, has implored the Governor to fight secret gas distribution in town as it is already posing a potential danger in that the gas stored in warehouses all over Bamenda remain unchecked.
He equally decried the bottlenecks involved in processing documents relating to the cassava plant in Ministries in Yaounde.
Another project that got the admiration of Governor Lele was the Presbyterian Craft Centre where artworks made with a lot of refined finishing.
Here, over a hundred youths are involved in churning out beautiful art objects that are being sold nationally and internationally.
The rich soils of Bali, Bawock and a host of other villages that make up Bali Subdivision have enabled mechanised farming. The Governor saw palm plantations owned by individuals, poultry farms and high breed cattle ranches.
The Fon of Bali, Senator Doh Gayongha III, who was in Parliament, sent a message congratulating the Governor for making it to Bali and promised that Bali people will continue to remain peace-loving, development-oriented and veritable partners to the Government.
In response, Governor Lele L’Afrique thanked Bali people, describing them as very hard-working people who Government will continue to support.
“I have seen and heard and understood your concerns. They will be presented to the various Ministries for lasting solutions, Lele promised.
