The Member of Parliament for Fako East ( Tiko and Muyuka ) Honourable Fritz Ngeka Etoke, has made some donations of food stuff and books to some underprivileged groups in Muyuka and Tiko.

The donations were made in partnership with a humanitarian Non Governmental Organisation, United Action for the Underprivileged Foundation, whose CEO is the dynamic Member of Parliament.

Handicapped, widows, orphans and the elderly in both Muyuka and Tiko definitely had a swell end of year feast thanks to the gestures of honourable Etoke.

In Tiko, the groups gathered at the premises of the Divisional Officer of that Subdivision to receive from the MP.

Bags of rice, salt, cooking oil, books, farm tools, sugar, beans , cooking pots, buckets, dresses, toiletries, etc were given out to the over 200 persons that answered present.

The same items were also given to Orphans, widows and the elderly in Muyuka Sub Division by the Member of Parliament.

In both towns the MP’s message was unique and in line with his humanitarian heart which has been seen many times since his election.

“We the members of the United Action for the Underprivileged Foundation have decided to bring a message of hope to you especially at this festive period.

We want to let you know that there are still greater opportunities for you people; being handicapped does not prevent you from becoming what you want to be in the society” He explained.

He explained that “ Today we the members of the UAUF have decided to say together we smile, divided we cry and that it is for this reason that after carefully examining the files of registered associations in Tiko and Muyuka, they decided to retain 9; that is 4 groups from Tiko and 5 from Muyuka.

The young and erudite Member of Parliament appealed to the underprivileged to form Common Initiative Groups so that it can be a platform through which he can submit proposals for assistance on their behalf to the appropriate quarters.

In all the places he stopped, the reaction of the people were very positive as they kept on wishing him God’s blessings and promising him their unalloyed support whenever the need may be.

The MP himself was visibly touched when he saw the widows and the elderly distributing the items amongst them to serve the purpose for which it was intended.

According to Hon. Etoke, the motto of the foundation is to make the world a better place for us to live in reasons why in May 2014, UAUF together with the MP successfully paid the completer fees of 15 underprivileged students in GBHS Mutengene amounting to over FCFA 500,000 and 7 pupils in Government Nursery School Likomba amounting to FCFA 35,000.

The foundation in collaboration with the MP also donated a generator and medical equipment of all sorts to the Munyenge Integrated Health District.

To bring Muyuka in their academic programme, the Member of Parliament said the Board of the UAUF have decided that the underprivileged children in Muyuka will be beneficiaries of the 2015/2016 scholarship scheme.
