The regional delegation of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries (MINEPIA) East officially declared war on the evil and stray dogs, since December 5.

A large free vaccination campaign against rabies has been launched in the four departments of the Eastern Region: Lom and Djerem, Upper Nyong Boumba and Kadey and Ngoko. The first vaccines were administered on December 5 in the town of Bertoua, capital of the Lom and Djerem.

Domestic dogs were given anti-rabies vaccines by domestic individuals: puppies and domesticated dogs were vaccinated. Many officers of the regional delegation of livestock, spread to other cities in the region, the same vaccine administered at Abong Mbang and Batouri Yokadouma.

Through this campaign, Dr. Christian Loa, regional delegate of MINEPIA East, says he is about to vaccinate all domestic dogs living in the Eastern Region. Rabies is a disease transmitted to humans by the bite of this animal. In this context, all dangerous stray dogs and judged are systematically hunted down.

They will simply be slaughtered during the campaign, to avoid possible contamination of the rage of these dogs to humans. Rabies remains a dangerous disease to humans. And an unvaccinated dog is potentially rabid. As such, it can kill humans.

A rabid dog bites man easily and does not recognize his benefactor or his master. For Dr Christian Loa, the dog should be the pet that always serves man and not a potential source of his death. This is why he calls on all dog owners to make the vaccine.

Otherwise, these dogs will be killed by agents of MINEPIA..Since the launch of this operation, dozens of dogs have already been killed. The campaign, supported by the MINEPIA East and municipalities, ends on December 24.
