Kake I village picks new chief

The traditional council of Kake I in Kumba I sub-division has introduced their new chief to the Meme SDO, Koulbout Aman David.

The introduction of the agriculture adviser to the General Manager of CDC, Ndoh Oscar Obase, as the new traditional ruler of Kake I village was carried out during consultative talks to select a new chief of the village following the disappearance of late Chief Tata Okiah Namata Elangwe in February 2014.

The consultative talks that took place at the Kake I Bongwana traditional Council hall saw the entire village answering present amongst them the special adviser to the Prime Minister’s office, Ndoh Bertha who equally happens to be the new Queen of the Kake I Bongwana village.

To set the ball rolling for the talks, the secretary of the traditional council, Butame Adolphe Sakwe, who doubles as Kingmaker on behalf of the village disclosed that though they were still mourning the disappearance of the village chief who was equally the paramount ruler of the Bakundu Tribe, the kingmaker of the village held internal consultative talks and as tradition demands they ended up choosing one of their illustrious sons to replace the late chief.

However, as administrative procedures demands, the SDO went ahead to scoop whether there was any opposition to the choice and was surprised by the thunderous applause and the standing ovation given the new chief.

With this development the SDO went ahead to endorse Ndoh Oscar as the 2nd Class Chief of Kake I Bongwana with a call on him to accelerate the development of Kake I village , collaborate with the administration since traditional rulers are auxiliaries of the administration so that they could combat the high crime wave and enhance hygiene and sanitation.
