Limbe Pilot Center gets children's corner

Stakeholders in Limbe have expressed great happiness and satisfaction with the recent inauguration of a children’s corner at the Pilot Center of the City.

The delegations, who are partners of the Limbe City council, from Reed Elservi and Book Aid International UK, visited the Limbe Regional Pilot Library on Wednesday November 19, to introduce open door for the kid’s corner in the library.


According to many, the innovation is going to help and equip pupils and students with knowledge in diverse fields, as they imbibe themselves with the various books which cut across all works of life. Handing over the finely decorated and spacious children’s corner, Youngsuk Chi, on behalf of the delegation, congratulated the City Council for embracing them.


He threw more light on the fact that the library in general and the kid’s corner in particular has books that cuts across all walks of life. Thus he encouraged children to visit the library often and make good use of the books as books are necessary for growth in all aspect life.


Elated by the wonderful gesture from their partners to improve the literacy level of the city, the representative of the government delegate ,The Secretary General, Charles Nkongho Arrey appreciated the donors for especially choosing Limbe as their first Pilot Library to create a children corners , not just the consignments, but also coming over to do the arrangement themselves.

Charles Nkongho Arrey urged the teachers and pupils to make judicious use of the material in the Library which he said is very vital for success, as he a living example of someone who read for several years in the Limbe Pilot Center and is today a success.


The children’s corner is beautifully decorated with various books across all ages and also has books and seats for relaxation. The pupils and students who turned up for the event expressed eagerness to make use of the Library, as they thrilled the audience with various poems on the history and importance of books. Part of the consignment brought by the donors was given to schools to equip their internal libraries.


It should be noted that the delegation also visited other libraries in the country like in Buea , Douala, Kumba, and Kumbo etc.
