Lobo: Disgruntled villagers barricade motorway construction work

Villagers in the Lobo Sub Division in the Lekie Division of the Centre Region have, for about a week now, blocked construction works along the Yaounde-Douala motorway.

The villagers are demanding payment for their crops and farmlands which were destroyed in order for the motorway to be constructed.

It is worth recalling that in August 2015, the villagers had carried out a similar action.

In the meantime, authorities seek ways of resolving the problems of the over 200 families affected by construction works.
