The long forgotten chieftaincy tussle over the throne of Mambanda village in Kumba III Subdivision is about resurfacing, The Post has learnt.

The battle for the throne had once subsided with the enthronement of Samuel Aduma as Chief, but in recent months, there have been reports of a fresh battle with different contestants challenging the legality of Aduma.

The Post gathered that secret consultative meetings have been conducted by the Divisional Officer, DO, for Kumba III, Gilbert Baldena, on the instructions of the Meme administration.

In this light, there are those who are already speculating that the battle for the once disputed throne could regain public view if the new developments are confirmed. The first of such consultative meetings, The Post learnt, were conducted in July 2014.

Mambanda, it should be noted, is the village that plays host to the Kumba III Council Chambers, the Divisional Office and the vast construction site on which the Japanese have erected buildings as part of works leading to the tarring of the Kumba Mamfe Road.
