The family of a deceased man was asked by one of his creditors to pay a sum 350,000 francs during the funeral.

This unusual scene took place in the village Batsingla situated 5 kilometres from the town of Dschang, last Saturday during the funeral ceremony of the late Sieur Noumbiwou.

Noumbiwou who died as a result of a lung infection at the Douala Laquintinie hospital, was said to have borrowed the money two months before his death according to the creditor also known to be his friend.

The impoverished family had first raised the sum of 200,000 Francs on the spot but Ali refused to collect the money, demanding that all his cash must be given to him.

After the intervention of the Gendarmerie brigade of Dschang, the family of the deceased emptied their last coffers to satisfy the uncompromising creditor which, oddly, according to sources in the Menoua Department did any show any document, nor witness to justify this money.
