Hundreds of Mbororos of all walks of life, Lamidos, Ardos, university Dons of the University of Dschang and Members of MBOSCUDA converged over the weekend of the 6 th of August 2016 at Mile 6 Nkwen in Mezam division of the North West Region of Cameroon, to celebrate with one of theirs, Dr Ibrahim Manu Nformi, recently appointed by the Head of State His Excellency Paul Biya to serve as “Charge De Mission” at the Prime Minister’s office of the Republic of Cameroon.

Dr. Ibrahim Manu who before the appointment was the Head of Department Economic and Rural Sociology of the University of Dschang for several years, said, his appointment came because of his diligence and hard work of service.

On this score he urged the Mbororo community to continue sending their children both males and females to school so that they could became empowered people necessary for the development of Cameroon. He shunned discrimination among people and encouraged the bond of love among his people as demonstrated through their massive turn out for his celebration. He promised to be as hard working in his new position as he was in his former capacity as a university don.

Many speakers graced the occasion among which was the Secretary General at the Ministry of Livestock and Animal Industries, Alhadji Manu Didago who appreciated the Head of State for appointing another Mbororo son to serve the state as “ Charge De Mission”. He echoed the importance of education of Mbororo children and stated that most of the good things happening today are because of the big role MBOSCUDA plays in the development of the Mbororo People. He advised the Mbororo community to stay in harmony with their farming neighbours to make Cameroon a peace loving nation. On his part, the Fon of Mbot– Donga Mantung Division, NWR, from where Dr Ibrahim Manu hails, also appreciated the Head of State for nominating one of his sons “Nformi” which he said meant “Charge De Mission”. A name he gave to Dr. Ibrahim Manu when he was born.

A motion of support was addressed at the end of the day to His Excellency the Head of State through the Governor of the NW Region, promising total support for his leadership of Cameroon. A horse parade and traditional dances added colour to the entire celebration.
