Minedub makes an offer to Bebeni flood victims

Basic Education Minister,Youssouf Hadija Alim has made an important offer to the 700 families displaced in 2013 in Bibeni, north region of Cameroon.

Madame Hadija Alim handed over didactic materials, house utensils and anti-cholera kits to the Senior Divisional Officer of Benoue, Mamoudou Haman ,for onward transmission.

The Minister on the occasion assured the parents that government shall ensure that 2014/2015 academic year effectively begins.

The Minister made the offer following a recent outbreak of cholera in the temporal camps where the displaced families were settled. So far, 30 people have been infected.

Basic Education Minister indicated that apppropriate measures are being taken to provide more decent accommodation to the displaced victims.

Mamoudou Haman expressed gratitude for the goodwill gesture promising to transmit the relief package and government’s message as soon as possible.

Oumarou Dang, a representative of the displaced thanked government for its attention to the needs of the children.
