The newly elected Rotary Club officials of Bamenda have been installed into their functions with Dr. Christopher Suh as the 2014-2015 President of the Bamenda Rotary Club. The event that took place at the Hall of Imagine Bakery in Bamenda on Friday June 27, was witnessed by Northwest administration, political, religious and traditional authorities.

Before handing the command baton to his successor, the out gone president, Barrister Wilson Nana Suh, who received the best attendance award and hard working president, he enumerated some of the achievements to include; payment of all dues by members to the district and Rotary International Europe and Africa Office in Zurich. “Rotary Inter ranked us first as an up-to-date club in terms of payment of dues”.

He was grateful that the out gone Treasurer of the Club, Prof. Bame Nsamenang, who is the Director Delegate of ENS Bambili worked tirelessly to pay all the dues to Rotary International.

On projects, Barrister Nana said the club took part in the planting of trees to fight climate changed organized by northwest Fons. There is also the ongoing support to the cholera project at Swie in Bafut, the Solar lamps project in Esu-Wum and the Mbingo School project.

The Bamenda Rotary Club last year created the St. Louis Biomedical Rotary Club. Apart from organizing a successful traditional Rotary Club Night to raise funds during his mandate, Barrister Nana said they have applied to the SDO Mezam and City Council for a free allocation of land for the construction of a club house in Bamenda.

“Worth all of these and other projects in the picture, I thank God for helping take this club to another level during my one year tenure in office. We have only very few, about 3 members out of 16, who did not complete membership dues and we are certain they will do so before July 1, my fervent appeal is for club members to lend some support to the new dynamic and hardworking president-elect, Dr. Suh”.

For his part, Dr. Christopher Suh, promised to follow the footsteps of the Barrister Nana promising to complete all projects they have engaged and to source for more funding so that the club can realize more projects in the health, education and social projects to the benefit of the suffering masses in the rural and urban centres. The members of the Board of Directors who were elected for a one year mandate include; Dr. Christopher Suh, Wilson Nana, Rose Ndonka, Lamago Tingu Franciose, Rose Celine Mamong, Ephraim Sunjo and Prof. Bame Nsamenang.
