The Divisional Officer, DO, for Mbonge, Sombe Simon has amongst other things called on the new traditional authority of Boa Bakundu, a village in Mbonge Sub Division, to combat the phenomenon of land grabbing in communities in the region in order to foster unity, peace and harmony with traditional rulers.

The DO was speaking at Boa Bakundu ceremonial ground Saturday November 22nd, 2014, while performing the administrative ritual at the corronation of HRH Chief Charles Wacka Esoe as 3rd Class Chief.

As the auxiliary of the administration, the new chief was equally admonished to import the experience from the Western World where he spend most of his years developing the community. He particularly hammered on hygiene and sanitation, unity, peace.

The DO reminded the new chief of the fact that he is chosen by God to rule the people of Boa especially as his consultative talks of July 15th, 2014 witnessed no hitches as compared to what is seen in other communities in the Division. He should therefore rule the people with a focus on the 1977 law on Chieftaincy in Cameroon.

In the presence of the President General of the Bakundu Cultural and Development Union, BAKCDU, cum Board Chairman of the Cameroon Development Corporation, CDC, Hon Justice Benjamin Itoe, the DO expressed worry about the disunity that exists amongst the Bakundu tribe and 36 villages all over Mbonge and Konye.

He disclosed that he will do his best to bring the situation under control. He warned that any individual who gets involved in the promotion of disunity in the tribe should be reported to the newly installed chief who will forward it to his office. Being the ruler of a 7,000 cosmopolitan population, they were equally enjoined to collaborate with the chief to help him carry out his herculean task with ease.

The spokesperson of the Chief had earlier lauded the government requested for more development. He noted that like Oliver Twist, they also ask for more since according to them, a hungry child is never happy when not satisfied so too is a parent worried when the child is hungry.

They called on the government to upgrade the village into an administrative unit like a district, due to the increase in population, the construction of a health centre, the construction of classrooms as well as a modern grandstand to support the already established Youth Day Centre.

HRH Chief Charles Wacka Esoe, was born in 1956 and attended the Buea Native Authority School, World Wide Mission Secondary school Muyuka, Hope Waddle Institute Calabar and Fort Valley State College USA.

He is a holder of a BSC in Business Administration, and before his last position as Manager of Vianello Hotel Kumba, he worked as store manager of dollar tree store and Dietitian Deverreaux Foundation USA.

In a chat with The SUN, he promised to contribute his own quarter in transforming the village.
