38-year-old Nseke Dibotti Luma has been installed as Mayor of Limbe III Subdivisional Council following his dramatic elections on Monday, September 1, 2014 to take over from Late Isaac Inongo Dalle.
The memorable and very outstanding ceremony took place November 14. It followed an administrative and management accounts session of the council for the 2013 fiscal year that held in the morning.
The enthused guests braved the rough terrain to the Bona Ngombe ceremonial ground, for the majority of them it was their first time. The presiding officer was Fako Senior Divisional Officer, Zang III accompanied by his Etat Major.
Former Government Delegate to the defunct Limbe Urban Council, Lifanda Samuel Ebiama being elite of Limbe III had to welcome the visitors. He said the installation of a new mayor should bring a sense of awakening and assurance for a better future.
Lifanda explained that Barrister Nseke, prior to his installation, has displayed and demonstrated the zeal to develop Limbe III by bringing all elite, to a common point to pave the way forward in their municipality.
The seasoned administrator said Mayor Nseke has given them the assurance that he will ignore negative conflict and move Limbe III forward. He therefore called on the elite to rally behind the new mayor so that they can catch up with what they have lost due to backstabbing and bickering.
Zang confirms the Barrister In his installation note, the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako, Zang III said for the short time that Nseke has acted as mayor, he was convinced that he is the right man at the right place.
He recalled the sad event of the passing away of Mayor Isaac Dalle on July 3, the dramatic elections of September I and finally the confirmation by the Minister on October 15. Then there was a minute of silence for the departed soul of Mayor Isaac Dalle.
The First Deputy Mayor of Limbe III was also congratulated for the job done during the period when he was acting and for the collaboration shown to the New Mayor after his election. This is the spirit Zang recommend for councillors and staff of the Limbe III Council to yield the development they all desire.
To the new Mayor, Zang acknowledges that he comes from a humble background and as a Legal practitioner; he should and is, a square peg in a square hole. Schools, roads, health centers, market are some of the things that Zang maintains Barrister Nseke must concentrate on.
The construction of the Limbe III Council chambers, work on the Bimbia Slave Trade Village, Bimbia to Man O War Bay road, provision of water to the fishing ports, fight against illegal exploitation of the Bimbia Bonadikombo forest reserve with the complicity of some elites are also files the Barrister Nseke will be carrying as instructed by the “no-nonsense”, Zang III. While executing these projects, the learned Barrister was however warned that council resources are public funds and must be accounted for.
FCFA 90 Million available for Market The living forces of Limbe III and guests were moved to thunderous applause when the SDO announced that a whooping FCFA 90 Million has been made available for the construction of a befitting market for Limbe III and the office of the Divisional Officer of Limbe III. Zang explained that the contracts have been awarded and in a few days, work will commence.
Mayor Nseke speaks When contacted by press men to get his reaction and plans for the municipality, Barrister Nseke went straight to the point. Development is his priority and he plans to work with every one to make Limbe III dream a reality. He assured the people that he will put in his best to make sure that their worries are taken care of democratically and in a participatory approach.
Men of law, mayors storm Bimbia As a mark of solidarity, over 50 lawyers and judicial officers we present at the installation ceremony. Both senior advocates and pupil lawyers braved the stony road to Bimbia to be part of the event.
The Legal Department was led by Senior State Council Eni Mokube; Fourth Grade Magistrate Tatsi Theophilous was also in Bimbia for the same event. The Tiko legal department was also represented by assistant state Counsel, Ngrassou Robert just as was the Tiko Court of First Instance with the presence of Magistrate Nkamngoh Rose.
Barrister Nseke’s new colleagues came from all over Fako, Tiko, Limbe I, II, Idenau and Buea were there to welcome their new colleague to the fold.
Reactions The diverse calibre of persons that attended the ceremony had similar words and expectations for the new Mayor. His colleague of Limbe I Roddany Mbua Mokako said it was a well organised event and wished the new Mayor success.
Limbe Registrar in Chief, Makaka Manga Williams opined that collaboration will fuel the success of Limbe III. As far as council administration is concerned, the Secretary General to the Limbe III Council told THE SUN that, so far council management has not been a problem for Mayor Nseke.
His colleagues who spoke to THE SUN promised to cover up for him in the legal world so that he can concentrate and bring development closer to the people. At the end of the day, there was total satisfaction; there was so much enthusiasm at the commissioning of the young mayor.
