An inspection mission deployed in Bafoussam has confiscated 67 vehicles for a number of reasons; including fake documents.

The mission was organised November 25, by the Delegation of Public Security to track down unauthorised transporters. The tracking operation that took six hours showed proof of indiscipline that reigns within the sector.

According to Police Superintendent, Simon Mbankwene, the campaign has been organised to enhance discipline in the sector and protect road users from harassment. He said the vehicles operate with fake car documents, no car plates, no roadworthiness certificates, amongst others.

At this pre-repressive stage of the campaign, the owners were summoned to pay a penalty before their vehicles could be released. The campaign brought together officials from the Ministry of Transport, the Gendarmerie and Police, representatives of the national syndicates of transporters and workers of the Bafoussam City Council.
