The Head of Government demonstrated a rare spirit of commitment and sacrifice by visiting Oku, Nkor and Noni in Bui Division and Misaje in Donga Mantung Division on November 6.
After participating at the Oku celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of President Paul Biya at the helm of Cameroon's administration, Prime Minister Philemon Yang took off for Missaje in Donga Mantung where he called on the people to belong to the CPDM, the mango tree that bears good fruit. From Misaje, the PM made a stopover at Nkor to harp on the message of registration and support that guarantees continuous peace and development.
A massive biometric registration for participation in the forthcoming elections, the PM stressed, would prove how much support the Noni people have for the man who has already provided them infrastructure and still plans to do more for his compatriots. The Noni people, the Prime Minister instructed, should aim at least 100,000 registered voters for the forthcoming elections thereby proving that they deserve what they need for development.
Earlier, the Section President for Bui V CPDM, Nforme Alfred Forgwei, the Lord Mayor of Nkor Council, Shey Michael Nkume and leader of Central Committee Delegation for voters registration sensitisation, Shey Dr Peter Mabu after recounting the achievements of the New Deal called on fellow militants to ensure continuity by registering massively in preparation for the next municipal and legislative elections.
The other speakers at the celebrations included the President of Bui V WCPDM, Shey Doris Ndiyun who after appreciating much that has already been done, asked for more seats for the Oku/Noni special constituency. The President of the YCPDM, Kibuh Nilian on his part, called on youths to join in the struggle for development by registering massively to vote in next municipal and legislative elections. The Divisional Officer for Noni, Polycarp Meh, called on militants to be more committed to the demands of peace and cooperation for development. He also called for hard work and loyalty to State institutions.
The celebrations ended with a motion of support to the Head of State, Paul Biya for his commitment to peace and progress. Participants at the great event had enough to share in the way of food and drinks.
