Paul’s Computer Institute graduates job creators

Paul’s Computer Institute, PCI, Bamenda is making remarkable strides in the domain of information and Communication Technology, as it graduates thousands of job creators annually.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony of its 17th batch, the Manager of the institution, Joseph Mumbari, paid tribute to the founder, Paul Christian Michelson, for planting a mustard seed in Bamenda.

According to him, most of the graduates from the institution have already picked up jobs in both public and private establishments.

“In some specialties, the demand for our products was higher than we could offer. This portrays the importance of vocational education on the job market toady,” he said.

The Manager boasted that the PCI is the most equipped ICT and business institute in the Northwest Region. This, he said, is, thanks to the attention given to it by theBoard of Directors headed by Rev. Gene Van Galder.

“The quality of structures and equipment you find in the various offices and classrooms speak for themselves,”Mumbari reiterated.

According to the Mumbari, the wonderful performances of students, especially in the Government National Diploma examinations, are due to the quality and devoted staff of the institution. He said the graduates have been properly groomed to face any challenges in the ICT and business spheres.

The Manager told the graduating trainees that the Board ofDirectors will, in the years ahead, begin offering scholarship to outstanding students.

The Manager, christened the 2014 graduating students as the “Innovative Batch”.

The Northwest Regional Delegate of Employment and Vocational Training, Theodore Jules Nlend, called on the students to adopt healthy and responsible sexual habits and cautioned them to guard against HIV/AIDS and corruption that may prevent them from excelling in their careers.

The graduating students were trained in Secretariat Duties, Hardware Maintenance, Marketing, Accounting Secretariat, Graphics Designs, Web Master, IT, Technical Graphics, Artist and Software Engineering, among others.
