Pioneer 22nd support battalion commander installed in Kumbo

Lieutenant Colonel Kounatze Tekam was installed recently in Kumbo by Major General Saly Mohammadou.

Lieutenant Colonel Kounatze Tekam Roger has been installed as the pioneer commander of the 22nd Support Battalion of the 22nd Motorized Infantry Brigade in Kumbo during a brief ceremony chaired by the Commander of the 2nd Military Region, Douala, Major General Saly Mohammadou, in the presence of the Senior Divisional Officer for Bui, Mr. Nzeki Theophile and top military officials.

The Mayor of Kumbo Council ,Mr. Njong Donatus Fonyuy, in his welcome speech, said the people of Kumbo and Bui Division at large welcome with open hands the Commander of 22nd Support Battalion of the 22nd Support Motorized Infantry Brigade in Kumbo.

He paid gratitude to the Head of State, Paul Biya, for the creation of the Battalion in Kumbo. Mr. Njong Donatus Fonyuy entreated the pioneer Commander and all his men to feel at home in Kumbo and elsewhere in Bui Division.

He expressed joy that “Their presence will not only protect us and our property, but will no doubt boost the economy of our people and our division in particular.” He pledged the unflinching support of the people of Bui to the defense forces for the spectacular fight put up against Boko Haram insurgents.

He assured the government of continuous financial and material support to our forces and said the population will fall behind the 22nd Support Battalion in the event of any attack by any aggressor.

In a brief chat with Lt. Col. Kounatze Tekam Roger, he appealed to the population to collaborate with the forces of law and order by giving intelligence information to maintain peace in the country.
