Police shoots 2 Kumba journalists!

A police officer in Kumba, Southwest Region, recently opened fire on two reporters, Christopher Talla Agha of The Sun Newspaper and Divine Nyambot of Lake Site Radio.

The two reporters were investigating what was seen as the irregular detention of a Presbyterian Church Christian, Franklin Shu, who left Ekondo Titi for Buea to attend the induction ceremony of the new Moderator of the PCC, Rev. Samuel Fonki and the Synod Clerk, Rev. Babila Fonchang.

While Nyambot dodged the police bullets, Talla, who is also a lawyer, was seriously injured and is receiving medical attention at the Kumba District Hospital.

Investigations have reportedly been opened into the matter.
