Religious communities console CUD on fire outbreak

The Christian and Moslem communities visited the Urban Community of Douala (CUD) to offer donations to affected staff.

The solidarity was organised around the urban community of Douala recently by private operators and religious communities who came to comfort affected staff.

After Sawa leaders, Muslim worshippers, the members of the national women's bureau of the Union of Baptist churches of Cameroon (Uebc) came forward to make their donation on April 14, 2015 at the esplanade of the Town Hall in Bonanjo.

The Muslim delegation composed of dignitaries, imams, and other faithful's offered office equipment to CUD. Gifts donated include cartons of ream of paper, ballpoint pens, a computer, calculators, records and many others.

The second Deputy to the Mayor of Douala II, Mohamadou Yacoubou, who led the group, said that the donation is a contribution to ensure that the community staff continue to work, despite the fire that has ravaged their structure from to April 6-7. Prayers have already been said to prevent further fire outbreak at Cud.

The national office of the Uebc women have brought a coffee maker, cups and spoons and cutlery set. "It is in our weakness that manifests the will of our God," said one of them.

Fritz Ntonè Ntonè thanked all donors. The delegate of the Government said that the gifts are precious. Indeed, its personnel used computers and papers as part of their work. All present will be submitted to the Community Council which will be held in the coming days.
