Rumours of poison attempt on Fon of Kom divide Boyo

The Ntumfoin (fons messenger) of the paramount Fon of kom, has refuted accusations by the SDO for Boyo, Joseph Oum II for facilitating his initiation in a secret society in kom that wants his life saying the Kfifoin of kom does not kill.

Terence Chah Bam made the public pronouncement march 22, following the outburst of hitherto petitions from some princes of the Kom fondom to the Presidency of Cameroon and the Prime Minister and the delegation of national security having as subject ‘poisoning of Fon Vincent Yuh II of kom under the conspiracy of Joseph Oum II prefect of Boyo division’.

According to the petition signed by Prince Emmanuel Ngam Ayeah, which this reporter secured a copy and of which was published across all Njongsikom in Bamenda Sunday, March 20, the prince accuses the SDO for Boyo for conniving with some second class chiefs within Boyo recently recognised by the administration to assassinate by poisoning the Fon of kom.

“On the 27 of Dec 2015, a nephew of one Albet Waingeh Ndim(a cousin to the impostor of the royal compound, Nsom Johnson Chongsi) by name John Waingeh who is a palace attendant (Chindo) visited Fon Vincent Yuh II at Mbingo hospital with another poisonous stuff rubbed in traditional beans. But the Fon refused to eat.

He left thinking that the Fon would eat and left just to announce in Fundong that the Fon had died the same day at 2pm.The petition further adds that the SDO for Boyo on his part announced that he was to attend the annual Njongsikom festival at the Fons palace from the 2-4th of January 2016 and talk to the kom people to support the impostor he installed as second class chief at Anyajua who is his candidate to the throne for he did not visit the Fon while at hospital.

Sir, we equally urge you to cause the investigation of those gagsters that poisoned Fon Vincent Yuh II of kom under the conspiracy of Johson Nsom Chongsi, Joseph Oum II John Waingeh…and prosecute them “the latter reads.

Angered by this accusation, the SDO for Boyo, Joseph Oum II who is barely three months as a member of Kfifoin who was initiated last January by the Fon of kom and his collaborators has intern accused the Ntumfoin (Fon’s messenger) of the paramount Fon of kom, Terence Chah Bam who doubles as the Mayor of the Njinikom Subdivisional Council, for initiating him into a secret society with the intensions of plotting his death.

Terence Chah Bam has denied saying the Kfifoin of kom does not kill but rather brings peace and weeds out evil in the land.

To him, as mayor, Ntumfoin and as someone very close to the SDO, he was consulted by the SDO after he was informed he will be given the title of Nchindo by the Fon himself.

“I’m now a scape goat because I told him it was a mark of success in his career. That it was a mark of recognition because it’s not all SDOs that have work in kom that has been given a red feather. These faceless people in the palace want to hijack the good intensions of the Fon of kom to tarnish the image of Boyo administration, my reputation and market their hidden agenda about the succession crisis. They are saying the SDO has been bought over, for how much? If these letter writers want something from who so ever, let them come out and let’s sit at table and talk” said Ntumfoin.

Contacted o comment on the issue, the chief of service at the SDOs office in Byo by name Williams of the guise that the SDO was busy said the SDO was so conscious about his work and not intrusted to see who is fon in kom.”The SDO cannot be poisoning the fon of kom. He does not have anything that can benefit him from the throne. He is a passer-by in kom. He has no problem with his administration and has no problem with the administration of kom”he said.

According to Terence Chah Bam, The Fon had decided to pull the SDO closer to him and had seen in him a close collaborator adding that the crisis had erupted from the fact that the Fon of kom has not recognised the successors of some major compounds in kom because they are not directly from the royal linage’ ’If the SDO kills the Kon what will he gain? Be the next fon? It is the king makers that decide who sits on the throne.

These gangsters, rumour mongers and trouble makers should show up and let’s talk. They are creating confusion in kom. The administration and the kfifoin are bent of fishing out the moles in the house in charge of all these letters. Today it is prince Ngam, the next day it’s Ayeah.

News had gone wild during the last week of Dec 2015 that the Fon of komhad joined his ancestors following his hospitalisation at the Mbingo hospital. This sparked debate amongst the kom elite as to who is responsible to break such news to the public.
