SDF Adopts Door-to-Door Campaign in West Region

The party officials launched campaigns in Bafoussam on April 1.

The Social Democratic Front, SDF, officially launched campaigns for the April 14, 2013, Senate elections for the West Region in Bafoussam on April 1, with preference for proximity strategy.

The SDF Chairman for the West Region who doubles as the list leader for the election, Tsomelou Jean launched the campaign in the party secretariat. He revealed that the SDF has grown to maturity in the political circle of Cameroon and now has much to contribute to the advancement of the socio- economic, political, and the democratic process of Cameroon.

He said SDF candidates in the West Region were men and women of potential standards in the political landscape and when voted will bring positive change to the country's political life. The SDF list leader claimed that the rival Cameroon Democratic Union, CDU nominated six substantive candidates from Noun Division and only one from another division. The SDF, he announced, has adopted adopt a door- to -door campaign strategy to woo both SDF and CPDM councillors who form the electoral college in the Region.

Meanwhile, before the official launch of campaigns the seven substantive and seven alternate candidates held a closed door working session with Mayors of the Bafossam,I, II and III Councils ,which are the main SDF managed councils in the West Region.

Other speakers included Tantse Tagne Bernard,Tchatchouang Paul,Soukin Etinne, Nono, Tchomnou Raoul and Mme.Metiedje Ngiufo Tchetagne Delphine all substantive candidates in the SDF list, who called on CPDM councilors to consider the senatorial elections as democratic practice and development oriented rather than looking at it from a partisan point of view and vote the SDF list.
