South West Campaign Fever Hots Up

As the campaigns gather momentum for the September 30 municipal and legislative elections, two main parties have come out conspicuous with out door campaign rallies. The Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) and the Social Democratic Front (SDF) are gradually distancing themselves with the number of campaign rallies they have so far organized.

Both parties have launched their campaigns in Buea, headquarter of the South West Region and also in all the Divisions of the Region according to CAMNEWS correspondents reports. In Buea, Monday September 16, the Chairman of the CPDM South West Regional campaign committee, Senator Peter Mafany Musonge made a formal launch in Buea calling for massive votes in order to give the party an impressive victory.

The SDF had also been on the campaign trail with rallies where its party bigwigs have promised great development projects if they carry the day. CT gathered that the National Chairman of the SDF, Ni John Fru Ndi, will address his party militants in a rally in Buea slated for September 21, 2013.

Other parties running for this year's race, are not lagging in their determination to grab votes. In Kwa-Kwa village ( Mbonge Subdivision), the Chairman of the People's Action Party (PAP) Hon. Ayah Paul Abine, held a rally where he called on his militants and potential voters to vote massively for his party lists. Supporters of the UNDP also held a rally in Mutengene on Monday at the CBC Primary school Limbe road.

While these rallies are going on, the party leaders have also embarked on door-to-door campaigns which they say are also important to convince potential or indecisive voters.
