South West Set for National Day Celebrations

A series of activities are earmarked for the occasion.

The South West Region is actively involved in the national trend in view of celebrating Cameroon's National Day. For those who can understand the times, it is obvious that this year's ceremony is of grand importance to the Region. The South West Regional Headquarters, Buea, is earmarked to host activities marking Cameroon's 50th Anniversary of Reunification. As such, local stakeholders in their various capacities have already launched ground works for a befitting event. As a booster, the official launch of National Day activities took place in the Bakassi Peninsular on Saturday May 12. The grandiose event was presided at by the Head of State's representative, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Bidoung Mkpwatt.

In all six Divisions, preparatory meetings and related activities underline the effort of local stakeholders. In Buea for instance, the very first of such meetings was held at the conference hall of the South West Regional Delegation of Public Works. It was presided at by the Governor, Bernard Okalia Bilai. The second meeting that held at the same premises on Thursday May 11 was presided at by the Inspector General at the South West Governor's Office, Jean Claude Obame.
