The three turbines of Mekin dam installed

The evacuation of energy that goes from the switchyard dam is completed. An engineer of the China National Electric Engineering Corporation (CNEEC), the Chinese company responsible for the construction of the work, accompanied by an official of the supervisor, Orecon Cima International (CIMA), gave details on the current development of the project of construction of the hydroelectric dam which, with the 15 MW of installed capacity, will strengthen the energy supply of Cameroon from the network interconnected South (RIS).

As a whole, the project is more than 70% complete. The three turbines, to produce 5 MW power each, are installed. The main dam is performing at 80% capacity.

The line of evacuation of energy that runs from the dam at the station of interconnection Njom-Yekombo, 40 km further on, is completed, just as the path of more than 13 km. In addition to the city of the contracting authority which is awaiting its final acceptance, a temporary bridge is done and the works are now on the left bank of the Dja River.

This was made known during a brief and friendly ceremony, presided over by the sub-prefect of Meyomessala, Jean Claude Eloundou on the banks of the River, the same confluence of Dja, Lobo and Sabe.
