Lanyu Harry Ngwenyi, D.O. of Fongo-Tongo, fell on the night of Saturday 9 to Sunday, April 10, 2016, in an ambush of thugs who had robbed the Balevonli 8 village, in the Fongo-Tongo subdivision located in the Western region and the Menoua division, 13 km from the town of Dschang.
According to information relayed by La Nouvelle Expression of Wednesday, April 13, 2016, it was in the middle of the night at a place called “Balevonli 8” less than ten kilometers from Dschang, that Lanyuy Ngwanyi Harry was surprised by the barricades on the road, while returning from the feast offered by a policeman on duty in his area of jurisdiction, to celebrate taking a new braid.
As soon as he came out of his vehicle to clear the way, he was attacked by a horde of individuals armed to the teeth, who came out of the bushes and visibly committed to the strip. After a confrontation with bare hands, the D.O. had to use his service weapon to repel the attackers, also armed.

Thanks to GPS directions, the vehicle was located on Monday, April 11, 2016, in Bafoussam, precisely at the entrance to the regional hospital. According to police sources, this vehicle was found having on board the dead body of the thug who had a bullet during the crossfire.
Another who was nursed at the regional hospital was arrested. As for the D.O, after regaining consciousness, he immediately went to the Dschang district hospital where he was immediately assisted.
