Three die after collision of two trucks at Edéa II

The accident occurred at "Calme la soif" located at some 12 km from the town of Edéa, Friday September 19. According to the information provided by the motorized road group of Edéa (gendarmerie), two truck-trailers entered collided at a crossing.

According to the regimental sergeant Major Emmanuel Ashu, a Renault truck registered LT TR 305 AA, transporting 9 wood balls, driven by Abba Saliou, riding towards the Edéa-Douala direction, skidded (loss of control) and went off-set on its left.

In same time, in opposite direction, a Mercedes heavy lorry, registered EC TR 843 AC, transporting cement, driven by Jean-Pascal Foumekong was approaching. The collision was violent: the two drivers were killed, as well as the ‘motor boy’ of the Mercedes truck, Baudelaire Tassa. His colleague of opposite car, Boubakary was alive with wounds.

Significant property damages moreover were recorded, inflicted in particular on the road (damaged parapets, etc).The bodies of deceased were deposited at the mortuary of the regional hospital in Edéa.
