The taxi left Nyala for Ndokoti with three passengers on board when a heavy duty truck suffering from break failure unfortunately hit the taxi driver’s side.
According to eye witness account, the 39-year old victim, Ebode Hervé, who was badly crushed, died on the spot while the three passengers sustained minor or no injury.
According to the same informant, the truck damaged two other cars and was heading towards an inhabited house when it was stopped by a solid electric pole.
The taxi driver’s remains have been deposited at the Logbaba District Hospital Mortuary while the 11th District Police Station has opened investigations.
