Councillors of the SDF-run Tubah council have exhibited their determination to unanimously stand behind their mayor, Tanjong Martin. The signal was passed on during the re-organization of the Tubah SDF electoral district last November 7, when majority of the councillors; 26 out of 31 inexplicably boycotted the election.

Troubled over the state of affairs, the North Western regional chairman of the SDF, Njong Evaristus who organized the group had to allocate about 70,000FCFA to hire JOMAX Hotel conference hall for the meeting.”

During the re-organization, one Taba Peter was voted as Tubah district chairman to replace Martin Tanjong who formerly held the position, while the ex-mayor, Stanislaus Sofa, who is currently awaiting trial at the Bamenda central prison was elected financial secretary and the second deputy mayor, Bonifa Chikelem who emerged as secretary.

Meanwhile, after the SDF NEC meeting on Saturday November 8, the Tubah mayor, Tanjong Martin was served with Article 8.2 two days later. The application of Article 8.2, political pundits arguement, was long over-due given that Tanjong did not respect the SDF’s investiture committee's decision which gave blessings rather to the then Mayor Stanislaus Sofa to be retained as Tubah mayor.
