Yaounde: Two perish at Etougebe neighbourhood

A ghastly motor accident at the Etougebe neighbourhood in Yaounde has led to the death of two persons and several injured.

The accident occurred in the late hours, Eye witnesses say the accident was provoked by brakes failure of a truck.The driver, unable to control his vehicle trampled on two nearby vehicles close by.

Not only human lives were lost but important material damage was also registered as the truck crushed the fence of a building besides the road.

The truck driver and a lady passenger of one of the two cars died at the spot.

The approximately ten persons injured in the accident were immediately rushed to hospital as investigation began.

The accident has raised more questions on the importance of road worthiness certificates given to vehicles, some of which are clearly unfit to ply the streets.
