Inhabitants of the nation’s capital, Yaounde are this 21st September 2015, waiting for the full restoration of electricity in the town.

Since 14th September 2015, Yaounde was plunged into periodic darkness due to electricity rationing after some three transformers in the town broke down.

On Thursday 17th September 2015, a new 35 MVA-capacity transformer was transported from Douala to the Eneo post in the Oyom-Abang neighbourhood in Yaounde.

Last minute arrangements were carried out on the site on Sunday 20th September 2015 to ensure that the new transformer did not encounter any damages during the transportation process from Douala.

With the installation process almost complete, an Eneo official, Philippe Feudjio indicated that by the evening of Monday 21st September 2015, electricity supply would be restored in the whole of Yaounde.

In the meantime, residents of Yaounde are looking forward to the end of the continuous power outages which have not only caused discomfort but led to the damage of electrical appliances.
