Ascension Day: Solemn celebration at Etougebe Baptist church

Christians of the Etougebe Baptist church Yaounde have been called upon to be prepared for the second coming of Christ whom they believe will come back again to take home his faithful ones.

The call was made this Thursday, May 5, 2016, as they joined the rest of the Christian fold to celebrate the Ascension Day which is believed that Christ went up into heaven body and soul.

The service at Etougebe was quite solemn even though graced by choral singing and intercessory prayer which focused on breakthroughs and encouragement for the weak.

It was also an opportunity for some to renew their faith after having received instructions from a homily drawn from Acts 1:11 and Hebrews 10: 19-25 by Pastor Hilarious Tanjong.

Christians were called upon to persevere as they await the second coming of Christ to which heretics attach unscriptural dates.

The homily was timely for some as it was an opportunity for them to renew their faith.
