Bali Presbyterian Church launched

Bali has been officially proclaimed a presbytery in the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC), becoming the 28th in the history of the church. It was officially proclaimed on Sunday October 5, 2014 by the Right Rev. Festus Asana, Moderator of the PCC during a church service that took place at the Presbyterian Church (PC) Ntanfoang.

The Church service also doubled as an Induction ceremony for the Rev. Titatang Kingsley, pioneer presbytery secretary of the Bali Presbytery and the centenary anniversary of the PC Ntanfaong.

Reflecting on the theme “a new dawn, a new life’ in his sermon, the Moderator praised the Christians of Bali for “keeping the faith alive” and to remember this day as a turning point in the history of the PCC and to remain steadfast to the true preaching of the church at a time when prosperity gospel has taken over from true worship.

He further reminded the Christians of Bali of the role Bali played in the history of the church. “It’s in this same church house that the PCC was born on November 13, 1957, the same church constructed by the Basel mission 100 years ago” he said.

Rev. Festus Asana also called on the pioneer Presbytery Secretary for Bali, the Rev, Titatang Kingsley Bobga to preach only the word of God and nothing more. The task ahead will not be an easy one he reminded him.

Bali Presbytery was given birth in the 46th Synod of 2013, which took place in Kumba, the administrative handing over from Mezam took place on Friday July 11, 2014.

Bali becomes the 28th presbytery of the PCC and is made up of 7 parishes, that is Ntanfoang the seat of the presbytery, Njenka, Ntaiton, Gungong, Bawock, Sang and CPC with a total of 53 congregations. The presbytery unlike many others shares the same geographical delimitation as Bali Subdivision.

The Bali Presbytery will be led by the Rev Titatang Kingsley as secretary, the Rev. Ayaba Alaska as Area treasurer and Elder Taphrey Patrick as Chairman.
