The new Metropolitan Archbishop will officially take office Saturday at the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires Cathedral in Yaoundé.

The new Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Yaoundé will be installed and inducted into his new duties with the delivery of the pallium during a Pontifical Mass.

During the ceremony, which will be held in the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires Cathedral in Yaoundé, the sheep of the Archdiocese will celebrate the entry of their new Shepherd.

The sale of the loincloth for the celebration continues at the secretariat of the said Cathedral in preparation for this occasion especially for the faithful who wish to keep the memory. "It is to mark this celebration in my heart that I have come to buy the loincloth for the installation of Monsignor", explained a faithful.

The prelate, aged 58-year-old was appointed at the head of the Archdiocese of Yaoundé, October 31 by Pope Francis. He was appointed following the resignation of Bishop Simon Victor Tonye Bakot.

Before this festival that looks challenging with regard to preparations, the faithful of the Archdiocese will solemnly welcome today, with palms, Bishop Jean Mbarga along the Mbalmayo - Yaoundé route. On this occasion, the disciple of Jesus Christ will cross several parishes of the Archdiocese before setting foot in the capital.
