The Azire Christian Men Fellowship of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, has wonthe 2016 National flag competition.

Azire congregation defeated over 800 CMF groups that participated in Bible and song competition to lift the converted trophy.

Presenting the National Flag trophy in Bamenda during a ceremony that brought togetherover 1000 Christians, administrative and traditional authorities of the Northwest, the President of CMF Azire, Charles Awemo Azenui, said winning the flag was the highest achievement during his tenure, because itis the first time the CMF National Flag was coming to the Northwest Region.

“I feel happy, excited, satisfied and thankful to God for empowering me to lead such a dynamic and enthusiastic group that stands distinctly to promote the ideals of the CMF movement and the church doctrine.

This top position we have arrived at today, reminds me of what a member remarked during our group meeting. He said, Mr. President, we stand solidly behind you because God appointed you to lead this group and He will definitely anoint you to help this group excel.”

According to the CMF Azire President, the secret of his group is the commitment and dedication of members who are always ready to sacrifice their time and money for the sake of promoting God’s word.

“For over seven years at the helm of this office, the spiritual life of the group has been on a geometric progression. As true Disciples of Christ, the group members have been steadfast and consistent in their mission of fishing men for Christ, and you cannot succeed in this aspect if your spiritual life does not reflect Christ,” Awemo stated.

He counted the achievements of the group under him to include; roofing of the Manse in PC Foumban, offering stands to PC Koutaba and Foumbot in the West Presbytery and encouraging evangelisation work in PC Modelle, Befang, Benakuma, Babessi, Bangolan, Nkambe, Bafut and Bali.

CMF Azire, he said, also preaches Christian unity by evangelising with the Chief Shepherd of Kumba, Mgr. Bishop Agapitus Nfon and the CBC Nkwen Pastor, Rev. Edward Njini.

In separate speeches, the National Secretary for Men’s Work and Evangelism, Rev. Michael Fai Verye, the National President of CMF, Tobias Mbenkum and the Parish Pastor of PCC Azire, Rev. Simon Mokoko Elive, joined their voices to praise CMF Azire for winning the National Flag competition and exhorted them not to relent in winning more souls for Christ.
