Over one hundred stakeholders from the various Congregations in Mezam Presbytery have been drilled on the importance and benefits of a corruption-free Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC).

This was done by the Action Transparency Committee of the PCC on 25 October at the Presbyterian Church Centre, Mankon.

To prepare the participants spiritually for this one-day workshop was the Rev Ayongwa Martin, who used the Parable of the Talents in the Bible to call on the stakeholders to act as the good and faithful servant who received praises from his master for a job well done.

Addressing the participants, the Financial Secretary of the PCC, through the Secretary of the Action Transparency, Patricia Ndutu, outlined the objectives of this action transparency drive which mostly centres on sensitisation on the importance of transparency and accountability.

The stakeholders, who included, pastors, chairpersons, finance committee leaders and other leaders of the different congregations in Mezam were educated on the role of the PCC as a pillar of integrity, leadership, stewardship, accountability and transparency, not leaving out technical methods to ensure a corruption-free church like results-based management and rapid results initiative.

This was understood more through group plenary where the team members identified corrupt practices in the various sectors where glaring and possible solutions to such corrupt practices.

It is worth noting that, the Action Transparency Committee of the PCC, works in collaboration with Bread for the World and Mission 21, PCC foreign partners, who support efforts in organisations that promote and uphold transparency and accountability.
