New Pastor for PCC Bastos, Yaounde Congregation

It was a special day at the PCC Bastos Congregation in Yaounde on Sunday September 8, 2013. The event was the induction of the new Parish Pastor Rev. Samuel Fonki Forba who doubles as the Presbyterial Secretary for the East Mongo North Presbytery.

As early as 9:a.m. choir groups from the East Mongo North Region gathered in the church premises to rehearse head of the solemn ceremony

In his sermon the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, Rt. Rev. Dr. Festus A. Asana said doing the will of God is the most selfish food we have. Drawing from the book of St. John 4:31-38 he charged Rev. Samuel Fonki Forba charged to serve God faithfully and with devotion, to be faithful to God in the service to which he has been assigned.

He should read the Bible to hear what God says and he has the task of winning preaching and winning souls for God. He called on Christians to pray for the pastor and support him in his task. On his part, the press Rev. Samuel Fonki said through the power of God's spirit he hopes he will be strengthened to do his work. "I am convince that God who brought me here will enable me fulfill his work in Yaounde and the East Mongo North Region," he said.

Born on November 23, 1965 in Bombe in Akwaya Subdivision, Rev Samuel Fonki Forba has a sound educational background. He has also held several posts of responsibility in his Christian career. He married to Rev. Dr. Perpetua Fonki and father of one child. Rev. Samuel Fonki Forba as presbyterial secretary the East Mongo North Region he represents the PCC hierarchy as he oversees in the development and welfare of the church in the centre, South and East regions where the 28 congregations are vibrantly implanted with resident pastors.
